Life is not about quantity but more about quality. If at 60 I'm in pain and poor health, I don't want to be a burden for the people I love and will check out on my own. There is a good book called "Final Exit" by Derek Humphry about death with dignity, But if I'm still going strong at 80 woohoo

Quality of life is very important.
From a point on health problems can become so serious that you can't take care of yourself, control your body and you have only moments of mental clarity. For sure, I wouldn't like to reach that state (could be 60,70,80, 90 whatever; you never know)
I guess a short but meaningful life is much better than a long empty one.

For as long as I can walk, talk, see and hear properly without any aid. Also, for as long as I am not yet senile. Guess that should be up to about 85 years :-)

Size (or length) is not important. Quality is important. If life turns into a living hell, forget it, I'm ready to go. If I can't take care of myself, time to go.
