Start your MS Word, and from file click on save as, you'll be given with a window, at the bottom of the window you'll see a combo box or also named as pull down menu labeled as, "save as type". Clicking on the pull down menu will show you the file formats that is supported in MS Word. I hope it helps, also there is reference in the microsoft's webpage about this matter.

doc txt rtf for storing text. but it can edit (i think) html htm bat cfg
