It's all a matter of perspective. I do however like the far side cartoon in which a guru cow, sitting in lotus, has been asked this question. His reply is that, some see the glass of milk as being half full, and others as half empty, but I see it as half and half.

not only is the glass half-empty, but the glass is too small, and I ordered white wine. The service here is terrible.
