look on www.creative.com. you will find there very good webcamsat a medium price. just yesterday i bougth a creative live webcam. it came with a cd and it has the functions below:
1.capture
2.remote monitoring
3.motion detection
4.time lapse video
It has a special software that adds realtime special effects to videos.
It can:
1. take a snapshot at 1024X768 maximal resolution
2. capture a video at 640x480 maximal resolution
3.the max. frame rate is 30 fps
4.has a flexible base
It can be placed on both tips of monitors
It costs around 50$
