Weather it's US or any other country.. there should be some criteria by which one could enter. The way, low quality immigration dilutes the quality of country, superior quality immigration has actually made it possible for US to attain the position what it is today.
What's more.. if you look at the other side of the story , American / Japanese companies are present in all parts of the world and the same question can be asked for their very presence in any other country and going by your rule, the world would become a pond.. ....... just a static stinking collection of people in groups.

I think we should have a sane immigration policy that accounts for impacts on education and jobs. The Senate Bill proposal is not sane. However, I would not 'stop' immigration, just illegal immigration.
"They are taking our jobs by getting multiple ones at the same place because they all look alike." -- not sure I understand that part.

As we all know this country is made up of people from all countries who came here the LEGAL way and too many who came the ILLEGAL way. Those who have not entered legally need to be deported.
We should make it even MORE difficult for people to enter the USA, to give this country time to weed out the undocumented, to tighten our borders and to start a healing process to get our economy back on track. By tightly screening those coming in we can lower the numbers entering and closely screen them. They should NOT be uneducated people who pay little if nothing into taxes (no lower than a high school education). They should have health screenings to assure they do not harbor dangerous diseases and their criminal records should be checked thoroughly in their country of origin to be sure they are not criminals escaping prosecution. They should plan on learning English if they want to stay here, we do not have to learn to speak THEIR language to accomodate them. They come here, they learn OUR language, English.

No, I think it should be restricted. America is a beautiful country and it should be reserved for Americans.
Singapore where I am from, is a small country. But our govt is opening the gates to foreigners too, one quarter of our population is foreigners. This will increase the wealth of the govt. I share the same feeling about job loss as you. But I got no say, because I am a nobody. You just have to accept it and not think about it. It will eat you up and cause unhapiness.

I think we need to strengthen the border, but also let temporary work passes much easier to get. let the passes last a year or something. then they either go back or get another one. either that or annex mexico and canada. :) I've actually heard that the gubment is working on something similar called the North American Union. Similar to the European Union. With Mexico and Canada. And our currency will be the Amero. I wonder how true this rumor is?

Legal, yes; illegal, no. So simple.
All of the people who think otherwise and who get so concerned about the plight of the illegals in the US should go with them and put their collective efforts to work at improving the social, political, financial and educational infrastructures of their indifferent homelands.
It is not nearly as convenient as marching in parades in the US, writing editorials and spending other people's money to assuage your liberal guilt, but it would be something about which you could actually be proud. Of course there is every reason to believe that you will be beaten, jailed and possibly killed for your efforts, but don't let that stop you.

If someone is coming here and breaking the law to do so, in other words is an illegal alien, then NO. There are the proper and legal ways to come here and millions of others have done it this way. So why should we now have to cater down to a bunch of low lives that feel it is OK to break the law because they are lazy?

I'm all for immigrants coming over the border LEGALLY. Athough I think that they come here in search of a better life & more opportunity---Why don't they try to improve life in their own country rather than fleeing it.

firstly, a little history lesson: America population is composed totally of emmigrants, with the exception of natives american.
Secondly, saying immigrants all look alike is stupid.
Thirdly, if immigrants are getting jobs it's because americans aren't diong them, so why shouldn't they work?
Do and ponder on all that and stop putting up idiotic questions likethat one
Cherrio, thanks for the points!!
