do you want him/her to call again? Or are you looking for every Saturday night hookup to be the real thing? If that is so, that is considered desperation. Most are just flings. If you screw him/her on the first date...fling. It not, it may be worth waiting for, a possibility of the real thing.

Have you seen/talked to him since? and if so, was it a booty call?
If there is more to your relationship than just sex and you still have contact with him, then it may be more.
If not, chalk it up to experience and move on.
