And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." Deuteronomy 14:8

I have been told that it is in the old testament and John allowed it to see who was a true Christian by following his new rule. I don't know if the person who told me this is correct or not thats why I am asking you.

And either way if the Bible, that you say is correct in all its saying and has no corruption is true, then why would you not follow all its teachings? Why follow some of its teachings and not others?

If the old testament is old law why is it in the Bible then? How many times in Church does the preacher preach from the old testament. Its like you get to pick and choose what you want to follow in the old testament as long as you follow the new testament.

As a Christian Pastor I'm more than likely going to receive some flak over the following statements but that's OK.
The prohibition against Pork fell under the Law as given in the Old Testament.
Therefore, Christians being under the New Covenant aren't bound by the Law , but by Grace.
But then tithing is under the LAW.
Homosexuality is under the LAW.
Divorce and the second class treatment of women is under the LAW.
GEE, I don't know why a Christian would eat PORK that's forbidden under the same LAWS they want to use to persecute everyone else.

All of the religions of YHWH / GOD / ALLAH are guided by the laws of the one and only almighty creator as given by or through Moses. Its just this simple. God's people are not allowed to eat pork and many other things that are in the book of laws. Duetaronomy.

One reason is because God said so. Why would he say this? Because pigs eat dead flesh, feces, their own young, anything they can find to eat. They're loaded with diseases, toxins and bacteria. People were told what they could eat because of what would or would not kill them. Even now in the US about 1800 people die each year from pigs.

Lets face it honestly. Jews and Muslims are just more obedient to God than some Christians. There are also some Christians that still follow the laws of God so it's incorrect to include all Christians.

Many things in the bible have been broken. Prime examples are Christmas and Easter. Pagan holidays to worship false gods that were adopted by the Romans. Illegal in the colonies until 1856.

The Bible is the Jewish Holy Scriptures. These were written for the Jews. This command was given as it is very hot in Israel and in those days they had no fridges, therefore God gave this command to the Jews.
In those days there were no Christians as Christ had yet come in the flesh.
Today, Jews many Jews still do not eat pork but Messianic Jews do. That is those who accept Jesus as Messiah.
This is the same for the Sabbath, the Sabbath was a command for the JEWS ONLY. There is no mention of Sabbath keeping for the Christians, that is a teaching of man.
You cannot just take a verse out of scripture and try to work out what it means, you must read it in context of the whole chapter and understand who the passage was aimed and and what was being said.
I suggest that you continue reading the scriptures and it is good to see that you have the King James Bible as it is the only accurate version, all modern versions have been corrupted by the Vatican to say what the RC teaching wants it to say.

Matthew 5:17-19
17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [a]the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Using the word christian is a broad statement. There are plenty of sects that do not eat pork. I dont and I am seventh day Adventist. If I am not mistaken Methodists dont eat pork either as we are pretty much the same sect other than sabbath.

Because Christians nitpick everything, they forget the verses about things they like, such as hair cuts, tattoos, pork and shrimp, and many more things. But force the ones they like onto everyone such as, the ONE verse in the ENTIRE bible which stated "you shall not lie with mankind as with woman kind"
