The favorite Filipino ice cream is the durian ice cream which is a fruit that is very famous for its horrible smell, but delicious taste. I have had the experience of tasting the fruit, but i didnt like it, because for me it tastes the same way it smells. The Filipinos say you have to eat it more than one time so that you will learn to enjoy it, but i dont want to eat that again, its horrible.
good luck and if you want to try it yourself, i suggest you hold your breathe when you are about to take a bite it.

An eating habit with Ice Cream most foreigners find strange is how Filipinos have a tendancy to BITE the ice cream rather than just eat it with licks. This is a tendancy carried from the fact being in a tropical country has ice cream melt faster.

Filipino Ice cream usually has no preservatives. They lacked the chemicals and freezer technology. The country was prone to regular power shortages.
Usually its mixed with fresh fruit. Vanilla, Chocolate(good for nerves), Rocky-Road (good for nerves), Ube(anti-oxidant when not in ice cream), Yams, Green Mango(Vitamin C), Pineapple (strong anti-oxidant when fresh/raw/ripe).

it depends in the climate and in the mood of a person..
when it is summer much of the Filipinos prefer ice cream bcs it is hot in our country..
and during parties ice cream is always present..

sorbetes is the most common term for a chep ice cream in the philippines is available at public places...........sold by a sorbetero..
with regards to eating habits its pretty much the same as any other country do they lick it when it is in cones and use spoons when it is in cups...

Never heard of one. Although you do have cheese flavoured ice cream, das wierd enuff.
