Start slowly, by the looks, e-mailing, talking on phone until the tempo is built up.
All of us we were first timer too, i remember I could not even breath while talking to one but as time goes by it becomes normal, you are going through the same metamorphosis as all of us went through long time back.
try sending him mails or just be strong and talk to him.

First try to be very friendly with him. Let him know ur likes and dislikes, ur behavior, etc.. Speak to him whenever situation permits. Once u both are close friends then ask him whether he likes u.

jus like confidence is important to girls, it's sexy to guys too. i almost always feel it when girls ask me for my # or on a date, i think that's better than girls playin' games and ****. sometimes it make u notice someone u never woulda noticed before. i'd say if u really like him take a chance, don't wait cause then the opportunity might pass u by.

I was like you once too... suck it up. what's the worst that could happen? You'll get rejected, probably not in this case since he said he already likes you. go with it but stay in your comfort level. Don't let him make you do something you don't want to. You'll be fine. =)
