As its name implies, "Gallbladder removal" is the removal of the gallbladder. Surgeons can use different methods to extract this organ and is now a days considered a simple surgical procedure usually requiring only an hour or two of hospital stay after completion of the extraction. This ofcourse, assuming that we are dealing with the average patient.
As for side effects, this very much depends on every individual. While some people suffer from multiple medical malignancies, it will usually take longer for these to recover and also with more side effects.
Then again, if we are dealing with the average patient, I am assuiming that all side effects are minimal and require no medical intervention unless they are significantly bothersome.

I had mine removed a couple of years ago. It isn't very painful, they use a laproscopic procedure these days. As for side effects, other than the expected post surgery pain, there weren't much. All u gotta remember is the gall bladder is like a "fat filter" it kinda filters the fat and grease out during the digestive process. You will need to change your diet after surgery. In a few weeks you may be able to eat some of those foods again and maybe not.

The gallbladder stores bile for release into the small bowel. As with spleen, appendix, useless, the effects of removal are minimal.

Sure do! Had mine removed 6 weeks after having my daughter. She is now 14 yrs old.
EASY surgery nowadays!
They do it Laproscopically. 5 tiny incisions and you are done.
I think you are ONLY in the hospital overnight.

It takes a few weeks to months to get back to feeling normal, but you won't regret it! Pain is my only side effect. It did hurt like hell, but I was glad I was finally able to eat something besides oatmeal without getting ill!
