Dog whisperer my ***. Anyone who loves dogs can learn anything he does, by reading and asking any reputable trainer. If yo watch the show, he has not special tricks, except for teachin illierate and undereducated owners, what the dog expects, and the results of repetition and reward, which any trainer will tell you is the most important thing. Dogs, by nature, will go out of their way to please you, and do amazing thing to that end, but hey have to know and understand what's expected of them, then be rewarded for doing it. Repetition and reward, and Lot's and Lot's of patience.
On TV it's all plain and simple because they have the option of cutting out out the failed attempts, and the hours of problems (days in come cases) Ceasar had in getting the dog to comply, then splicing it all back together to make him look like the Yoda of canines. Bull! You can do it, just learn how.

I would like to see an entire training session with him. I have a difficult time walking my chocolate lab on a leash -- I doubt very seriouly that by going "shhhht" and tugging once on the leash as correction, the dog will know what that means. I think he's probably a good trainer, but his 30 to 60 minute shows really aren't that good. I bet he's very, very expensive too!

Yes, he knows what he is doing. He treats dogs like dogs. A lot of pet owners treat their dogs like people and that is not fair to the dog. I think some people see him as arrogant or domineering, but that is how a dog sees relationships. They rely on hierarchy and are programmed to assess who's the top dog?where am I on the totem pole? is there an opening higher up? When he corrects a misbehaving dog he does it quickly and firmly, none of this "whaz the matter baby, don't you want the nice mailman to bring mommy her paycheck, kissy kissy" The dog does not speak english, he hears nicey nice after attacking the mailman and thinks "YES, she's happy". We need to treat dogs like dogs, we have brought them into our world, it is our responsibility to communicate the rules in a way they understand.
Caesar is very adept at that after years of experience working with them.

I think he's awesome. He truly understands dogs and has done some amazing things with both troubled dogs and (as he calls them) red zone dogs, that would normally be put to sleep as being untrainable and vicious.
I also watch him because I have a tiny little crush one him (go figure LOL)
I would certainly try many of his procedures if I still raised dogs. But, have you ever tried to be the pack leader to 3 cats..HA! Just doesn't work...they could care less what you do, since they rule the roost!
If you are thinking of getting a dog or already have one with problems, I would most definitely suggest buying his book and his video.

I think he dose, I think he has changed or it appears he has changed, Most of the aggressive stuff he dose is with problem animals.
For the most part he dose what everyone else dose, I have seen the same things done else where even before he came on the scene, so I can not say he is an original, more just in the lime light.

Yeah sure, he knows what he's doing. But it's the same thing, and he just keeps doing it over and over and... I'm a little sick of him. I think people tune in mostly to watch the the antics of the poor, misguided owners.
