Hello,

It sounds as though you are describing Atheism. Everyone has the freedom to discover their own truth, what ever that might be.

Could you imagine ever loving God? That God loves you and wants to bless you?

For me, the cause of much pain for people is caused by the belief that they are seperate from God. Or that someone is between them and God.

In your question it seems to bother you that someone has experienced God and found a joy/love/peace that they do not with to surrender.

Why is that bothersome to you?

I believe that religion is not good for people for that reason right there that you answered. It takes a "good idea" and turns it into a cult thing.
