Great question that many through the years deal with who are Believers in Christ.
First.... Attending church is not one of the Ten Commandments. Some people may try to impose this as one of the commandments.
As a believer in Christ, you become a part of the Church or the Family of God. It is a reality of being in relationship with Christ.
Because you are a part of the Church it is likely you will want to share with other believers in some way. This may or may not mean going to a place of worship (which is unfortunately in todays terminology understood as the church). The Church as a People, is a community of sharing, encouragement, spiritual growth, and comprehension of the Scripture.
You won't go to hell for not going to a church building. You may become spiritually weak and inefficient as a member of the Body of Christ IF you don't seize the opportunity to be with the People of God in a consistent manner.
May God bless you as you journey this walk of faith with Christ as the Saviour of your life and brothers and sisters in the community called the Church.

Anyone can belive in God and still go to hell.
There is nothing written in the 10 commandments about going to church. Although they are God's law!! So God will judge using His laws. God is everywhere, living fruitfully, do you mean being a good person and doing good works? Well you can not get to heaven that way. If we have broken the commandments we are guilty of the commandments we deserve DEATH! You may say but God is good, and your right He is good so he will not just let everyone go. Think about a judge here in our court system. If you broke the law and just said judge I think your a good person and I'm sorry so please forgive me. You know he wouldn't. You broke the law and must pay the fine. But lets say someone you don't know came in and paid your fine for you. That is what Jesus did. He paid your fine and with the fine being paid you are free to go.
To escape God's wrath to come you must REPENT or turn and forsake your sin and you must ask Jesus to come into your heart and trust Him to save you. This is the only means to get into heaven.

when man wrote the bible, they created this notion of hell to make people afraid of being bad. also, heaven is a reward, according to the bible. It has apparently worked with you. you are questioning your acceptance to a fake place and questioning your own goodnedd on earth. its OK to believe in god. most do. on sunday mornings i think watching football is more of a contribution to this world than going to church. i dont really like sports. See, there are so many better things someone can do on sunday besides going to church. family time, read a REAL book, watch the news, (not FOX news though) a belief in heaven, hell, or god is going to take up too much of yopur short life. use your brain, and live a little. and if ZI'm wrong abd there is a god, he'll see all the goodness one has done with or without church.
find out for yourself

Well, first of all, it is not one of the ten commandments! And no, I don't believe you will go to hell for not attending church. Did you know that churches didn't even start in buildings called churches? They started in people's homes. Also there are a lot of people who for a variety of reasons cannot attend church - they are ill or have to work for instance. Also, nowadays, church can come to you - there are plenty or services being broadcast on the radio, television and even on the church websites!

Sitting in church does not make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car. That being said, Christianity is not solely about "me and Jesus." This individualistic mentality has helped to destroy the sense of Christian community that was so important in the early Church. You should not go to church because you "have to" but rather because you desire to grow closer to God and this can only be done in the context of community. You're not going to hell for not being a church every Sunday, but you are certainly not going to be more than a baby in the faith.

I agree with you 100%. I consider myself to be a moral Christian person, and pray on a regular basis in the privacy of my home or car or wherever, silently. But I don't believe that my going (or not going to church) should be the basis of my judgement when the time comes. I know plenty of people who spend hours in church on Sunday, and every other opportunity, only to commit what I consider immoral or uncharitable acts during the rest of the week. Maybe they've got some guilt thing going.
Stay strong in your belief.

It is common knowledge that we are justified ONLY by Jesus ' sacrifice and not by our facts ! For this reason, salvation depends on our personal faith in Jesus , but after believing in him you can't remain the same - your life is being changed and you are a new person born by the Holly Spirit .
The new man in Christ needs spiritual food and that can be provided from the church - where God 's word is being preached - . For this reason it is very important to go to church .
One more thing :in the seventh day -in the beginning -God rest , shouldn't we rest our souls in His presence too ?
I strongly believe we should !

No, you will not go to Hell for not attending church, and it is not a ten commandment. However, the bible does talk about not foresaking his tabernacle (place where people worship together), in other words, don't foresake church, because the fellowship is necessary. Hope this helps...

This is a childish belief of an imperfect religion. There are billions of other religions people who have faith in hinduism, budhism, zen, tao, jainism, sikhism...and all are true to their religion.
Christianity is not the only truth in universe...and Jesus not the only saviour...there are 1000s of god's messanger who come down to tell us about the truth
But your churches put so much poison and hatered for other faiths in your mind that u cant see the truth outside your childish religion
