this girl is 4 years older than this guy and they are very much into each other . but her friends and family are mocking the age difference and she cares very much about what they think....what should she do?

Depends on what the four years are. My last girlfriend of 3 1/2 years was four years older than me, but I'm 36 and she is 40. Two other long term relationships of mine were two years apart, 22 and 24, and 27 and 29. (Both lasted two years, the women being older.) The older you get the less the years matter, but if you are having to ask I would hazard a guess that you are about 22 and he is 18. Those are very formative years, and a long way apart- especially for a guy and girl of those ages. If "she" is that young, and cares that much about what her friends and family think, I would suggest moving on, but keeping in touch so there can be a chance down the road. Actually, once I was 19 and had a cute girl that was after me told me she was 17. Luckily, I found out she was only 15! She was mad that I found out. She was great and I liked her a lot, but besides being jail bait, it was just wrong. We stayed friends until I lost track of her when she went into her sophomore year in college.

Patience pays . Just relaxed and concentrate on studies . Wait for the right time and age everything will settle down itself .
