Not all overweight people overeat. Some people were small at one time and then when you don't pay attention to what you eat, the next thing that you know, instead of having 2 pieces of pizza, you eat 4. When you do that for every meal, the next thing you know is that you're eating 2-3X's the amount of food than you should. When you eat food, your stomach is a muscle and when you stretch it to be larger to accommodate all the extra food that you started giving your body, you have to eat more to fill the space and stop being hungry. It is the same idea about medicine. If you take 2 aspirin everyday, after a while, the 2 isn't going to work as well as it did before.

There could be a medical reason why they are gaining all the weight. Some chemical in the brain, has misfired and it makes the body think that they are hungry, so you eat, even if you aren't hungry or you've just eaten.

So don't look at all overweight people as "Big-Fat Pigs", something medically could be wrong. Just like someone who lost a limb. It can't be helped.

We presume that they overeat.

Actually the body`s gene is such that fat accumulates.

Next time notice how much you or a lean person eats, and how much a fat person eats. There will not be much difference.

99.9% of the time, yes. Rarely are thyroid problems the sole reason.
