Would it make paying for tickets more fair, if a person paid in a way corresponding to the actual costs of flying their weight over?

i believe it's fair. after all it take more fuel to fly a guy that is 300lb then it would take to fly a guy that is 150lb. but at the same time i think they should charge people less for being under weight. what they should do is charge by the pound for flying.

I so consider Peter Singer right here, it makes suitable experience. airways do pay greater gas fee for each better pound of load, yet a 250 lb/a hundred and twenty kg man or woman will pay an identical fare as a ninety lb/ 40 kg one. hence the fee of an air fee ticket from a gentle man or woman is in fact subsidizing that of a heavy passenger. yet i'm hoping the airline can arise with a answer to seat the obese passengers, they consistently soak up component of the area of a small man or woman next to them.

All seats are the same size. And each person is the same burden. Weight is not that big of an issue on a large airliner.

Weight / size is an issue. I do object to having to sit next to someone who is overweight and takes up so much room it makes your flight uncomfortable. I think they should have to pay for business class or 2 economy seats. I know some people can't help being overweight but I think it is unfair they make someone else's flight awful because of it.

Wow, how can you say something like that? I guess that you are that darn small and if thats the case then they need to charge you extra for taking up a whole seat that you cant fit in for being so darn small

I weigh 125lbs, but others weigh more than I am. I am a person, the others that weighs more than myself are person/ people too and they should not be descriminate against because they are heavier. I think it is unfair for anyone who even consider to charge them more because of their weight.

the cost is to cover an additional seat that they are provided due to safety regulations sounds unfair, but when someone gets a handicaped sticker to park in handicaped spaces because of a weight problem now do you think that is fair for the rest of us.

Not really, unless there was some way, they could make up for it. say combined weight and luggage... I've been on those flights that have 2 floors of passengers, HUGE planes! I doubt it makes a really big difference....

no its is not rite to pay more for a normal heavy weight but if in extra ordinary case like sumo's it will be they charge extra as they will have to be provided extra sitting conditions.
