So, let us say we have "Joey" a staunch Athiest. Joey doen't believe in God, or accept Jesus as his savior. Joey has never committed a crime, and has spent a majority of his life volunteering time to help the homeless and improve the environment.... and let us say that "Leroy" is a convict in jail, he has killed and raped people - but after a few years in jail, he has turned the other cheek, repented, accepted Jesus etc. - a full reborn devout christian. Will "Leroy" go to heaven, and "Joey" to hell?

What God worth worshiping would do it that way? If you believe the term "God" refers to an entity which is just and fair, let alone kind and forgiving, you can't possibly think the rules are the way you describe. Granted, there ARE people who seem able to twist their minds around that idea. How they do it is beyond me.

According to the Bible (and I don't know which verse, I just remember this from catechism class) what you believe on Earth will be true in Heaven. If you believe there is a better place for you after you die, it will be so, no matter what you call it. If you believe you can get there through good living or forgiveness, that will be so as well. Interesting to note, this justifies and confirms every religion we have on the planet, whether the Christians want to admit it or not.

From a Christianity standpoint, Leroy will go to heaven since he accepted God and asked for his forgiveness. Remember the two criminals who were crucified next to Christ? The one who accepted Jesus as his savior was in fact saved, and the one who shunned him was condemned. So I guess, from that Christian standpoint, Joey would go to Hell since he never accepted Christ. Whether we agree or disagree personally is for another discussion.

Leroy will go to heaven if he honestly repented. Joey will not go to hell. Joey will be placed in a box and left there to decompose for the rest of eternity because he'd rather be there than in heaven.

if joey was an atheist, he wouldn't be worried about going to heaven or hell anyway. Leroy would go to heaven. god has a way of sending people like Leroy around to see people like joey.

Rom 2
14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves,
15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,
16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men.

According to scripture, both would enter heaven.
But according to Church doctrine (which is not scripture), Joey would go to hell.

Okey thanks For Your Question :)

Well God is Just so he will give joey allot of graces as e reward for what he did from good deed but just in the earth ex. money, good job good wife good life

and for Leroy if he repent from what he did i mean truly repent and to regret and not to go back to this bad thing and to be
then God will forgive him but if he didn't repent then he will go to hell for what he did if his bad deeds are more than his good ones

and by the way these are the teachings of Islam not Christianity ....i think in Christianity all Christan's are saved and will go to heaven don't know how

There is no hell. It's purely symbolic. Our "hell" is what we make of our lives. Using your scenario above, Leroy has made his hell, and no amount of 'salvation' can take away what he has done as he himself will always have to live with is crimes. Joey is an honest, good person and can be content with himself that he has had a good, fruitful life. When we die my friend, we die. We cease. We stop existence. End of story.

That is entirely between Joey and Leroy and God - and only they should care. That's God's business with them - not ours.

According to general Christian (Trinitarian) doctrine, anyone who does not trade his soul to Jesus for the right to sin all he wants will go to hell.

Joey goes to hell; Leroy goes with Jesus.

i hate the "quick fix" that christianity offers. just accept jesus and you'll go to heaven. even if you are a murdering rapist. i don't think god works that way. i think god wants us to be accountable for our lives. quick fixes NEVER ever work, they're just blinding you from that truth that how you live your life counts more than how sorry you are for knowingly f*cking up. its not a good way to live if you're to live among people. i can kill you, but its okay because i can repent later and still go to heaven. wtf is that. the person cannot possibly undo what he or she did in their lifetime. only those who live their lives well, actively help people, are moral and loving, should be given a reward.

which is why i'd rather be a moral atheist than a christian.
