They had the same salvation afforded them. Jesus dying on the cross was God's way of showing us we could repent, be born again, and enter His kingdom.

The scriptures certainly teach that Christ Jesus was a ransom sacrifice. Some people say that those who died before Jesus have received a salvation based on what they were taught back then about Jesus. Others say these ones were judged by law and don’t need a ransom sacrifice. But notice what the Bible says about the ransom sacrifice of Jesus at Acts 4:12: “There is no salvation in anyone else for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.” Clearly all mankind is in need of the salvation provided by the ransom sacrifice and clearly all must avail themselves of the benefits it provides. But how will those who lived and died before Christ came do that?

Acts 24:15: “There is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.” It is by means of this resurrection that all who died before Christ lived will have an opportunity to learn about Christ’s ransom sacrifice and teachings with a view to being obedient and living forever. Indeed, the hope of the resurrection is so important that in the sixth chapter of the Bible book of John, just from verses 35 to 54, Jesus states his own role in the resurrection four times: “I will resurrect him in the last day.”

It is by means of the resurrection that all who have died before Christ lived will have a chance to put faith in Christ.

There is another issue at hand. Before Jesus came, we had been under the curse from Adam, and under the Law which Moses brought to us.

Jesus came so that we could also have a new covenant and truly become a family and regain the blessing. It was an act of Hesed (hebrew word).

The Blessing that I mention is the same which was given to Adam which had the sole purpose of creating a Garden of Eden on earth.

As another wrote, those whom had a pure heart and lived under the laws went to Abrahams bossom.

Simple, if they abided by God's Torah, then on the day of Judgement they will be judged favorably and enter the World to Come.

But since 'jesus' didn't die for anyone's sins but offered himself up as a guilt offering, then the same abiding by Torah still applies to people since then to today.

okay... that is actually a simple answer. Jesus died for the sins of man "if he did exist." and the people before that were just unfortunate and died. people don't die for their sins. people die for their time "SAYS GOD IF HE DOES EXIST."

Before JESUS, man was judged according to the Law, i.e. 10 commandments. They were judged according to GOD, as there was no Grace or mercy then, all black & white- no second chances. We have JESUS now tho, and our sins are forgiven through his sacrafice.

My interpretation is that man was good until a ceratin point, when sinning became too prevalent, causing Jesus to die for us. I assume God sorted souls on a good bad basis...

Either that or those guys were up **** creek without a paddle.

If the Jesus myth was true, Jesus paid for all sin.

No one is going to hell if the Jesus myth is true because he (allegedly) paid the debt for ALL sin.
