The latest attention is aimed at foreigners not speaking english.

My concern is that many people don't communicate properly, whether it's writing (as in these questions), or speaking.

We need to learn the proper usages of our languages all over again.

The internet just adds to the destruction. Good use of language should be enforced again.

THEN we can criticize others for not speaking english!

Thank you.

I'm baffled by the things I read on this site sometimes.

this seems rather a pointless question- in fact you seem to be making a statement on your own particular viewpoint on how language should be used. The truth us language cannot be controlled to that extent, and if it is, who do you put in charge of it?
What penalties would you use for incorrect usage?
Seems to me that with the rise in inter-net and mobile phone usage we are having to revise our opinions about how to use langauge all the time.
I think this is a really exciting thing.

I am a native English speaker and writer, and love the English language for its adaptability and diversity, and don't feel at all threatened by the inter-net. Yes, there are some almost illiterate people on here, but they are on here, and communicating. If this doesn't suit you then tough, the inter-net is truly democratic and self-controlling to a degree, I think the answer lies in positive education, and not negative criticism.

Incorrect spelling and missuse of grammar are not the problem with english today. The problem is people tend to use too many words to say too little, and speak with no intent or passion. English today is used for mental masturbation. Do you ever read how university bloggers write? It's basically a display of vocabulary, with no real meaning when you really analyze it. Whereas English was once used to convery meaning, it's now used to confuse people and display ones vocabulary.

I think your worry is correct. People though they the nuances of the language, they are not willing to practise what they know. Everything remains in their mind as theoretical knowledge. They dont read atall may because of the invasion of the internet. They use the language in the wrong way because the language has been flexible enough to adopt everything. That has led to total destruction.

Foriegners hate Americans, but I see them on our American soil every day. They want what we have, but they aren't willing to fight for it in their own country, so they come to our ground and now they are demanding it. I think it's funny in a way. Most Americans can actually get together, and book all our available planes at one time, and all fly to another country, about a million of us could afford that in one day. We could take over any country we wanted to at any given time. But we are so ******* gracious, we allow immigrants to live next door to us, we become friends with them, we help them get jobs, we help with thier transportation, and we babysit their babies, because we know our ansestors were immagrants too. We wouldn't be here had it not been for the early immagrants that killed the native Indians that lived here before our ansesters arrived. I could keep on going, but I think I made my point. Actually, I do speak English really well (notice i said "well," not "good.") thanks to my dad. My teachers in grade school certainly didn't all have perfect grammar. I totally agree with you. What is happening with the English language anymore? It annoys the crap out of me when I see college kids, or even college graduates, who get "your" and "you're" mixed up. And it makes me want to puke when I see people get "our" and "are" mixed up. How in the world do people get those two words mixed up? Oh, I could go on and on about peoples' poor grammar...

Why have YOU presumed that I don't have good communication skills. If not presumed, who the hell misled you about that.

You have addressed the question to all the yahoo answerers, whether they have good communication skill or not, addressing them as "you". Before writing any question you must verify whether you are addressing a particular section or to all.
