First and foremost, find a good hair stylist. One that can help you find a style that fits you.

Next, use high quality recommended salon products. (There really is a HUGE difference! I've seen too many heads that used junk on their hair and you can literally scrape the wax off the hair with your fingernail or the edge of your scissors!!! YUCK!) Then they wonder why their hair is limp, has no body, doesn't even looked like they shampooed it an hour after they did it, and doesn't shine!

Don't mess around with too many chemicals! Some people are so addicted to coloring /texurizing waves that they really end up with hair that doesn't look like hair anymore, it looks like straw instead of hair! Use a good reconstructor conditioner as needed.

Don't over shampoo. Use cool water for your final rinse. This helps to seal down the cuticle of the hairshaft and makes the hair shine!

Make sure you're eating a good diet. Too many junk foods and you're hair starts to loose its luster/shine.

If you have to use heat tools to style your hair, make sure you're using a thermal protector to help protect your hair from excessive heat.

Last, but not least, since it is summer, make sure that before you go swimming in a pool that is chlorinated, thoroughly wet your hair with regular tap water before entering the pool. If the hair is full of regular water, it won't absorb chlorinated water. Then make sure you shampoo immediately when you are done swimming. It only takes 1-2 times of not shampooing and letting the chlorinated hair dry or waiting till you get home or waiting till the next morning to shampoo, to get a chlorine build up in the hair. It is very damaging to the hair and makes it not so good looking!

One more last but not least......be prepared to "do something" with your hair every morning! So many people get lazy and want to just throw it up in a pony tail. If you get a good style, it takes practice sometimes to be able to style it correctly. Don't give up!

Hope this helps on your road to "good looking hair!"

Wash your hair every three days otherwise you will loose the natural oils and it will become greasy because of the constant washing.Know it might sound dirty as when I was younger I would wash mine every day but it works. Then get Nuetragena hair cleanser wash your with that once a month and it takes all the residue off your hair and leaves it looking shiny healthy and first class.Allways use the best shampoo and conditioner you can afford.I use alchemy it is a natural one it is really good.

Wash your hair every other day. The natural oils in your hair will encourage growth and too many hair products are bad for hair. On straighten and curl hair on special occasions--this damages your hair severely. It's like french frying your locks. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and be sure to use a product specifically for your hair type (oily, color treated, etc.) Keep your hair it's natural color and do not dye it. Dying you hair can cause damage and looks fake, especially bleached blonde hair. If you would like to dye your hair, stay close to your natural color as it will look very phony if you do not (i.e. red hair dyed blonde, etc.) Perms also kill your hair. Highlights and low lights look very nice to create a multi-tonal look. These are not as damaging as as fully dying hair. Layers and side-swept bangs are very cute. Embrace your hair's style. If you have thick hair, work it. Add layers and make cute styles that show off you lovely, thick locks. If you have curly hair do not straighten it. This just makes your hair frizzy and limp. Show off your curls by leaving them down or pulled back at the top. Use Frizz-ease or other frizz reducing products for frizzy hair. Take good care of your hair and you will see results!

Hope this helps!

Take hands full of your hair and pull on it, not too hard, this will stimulate the follicles and help it grow, Wash it with most any mild soap or shampoo, put two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a guart of water for a rinse (conditioner) leave on for about 30 seconds and rinse it out with clear water. For a all-around healthy glow and body P_H balance take two tablespoons of honey and two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a warm glass of water once a day every day.

Try the shampoo and conditioner by john freda they have a blonde, brown, and red hair type. plus don't use alot of heat on your hair and try to not use a lot of product. try letting your hair get gressy it will keep your hair natural and with no breakage. let your hair dry about 90% before using a hair dryer it will cut down on the heat and it is easier to style.

Depends on what type of hair you have. Buy good products, don't wash too frequently,it removes the natural oils, and drys hair out,and don't use alot of heat on it.

Use a saloon brand shampoo and conditioner (especially if you use curling irons or blowdryers often. Talk to your stylist to find out what she would reccommend for your hair type.MOST OF ALL.....Make sure you cut your dead ends often. Dead ends is what makes your hair look bad.
