While I think 9/11 was planned to start war in Iraq, I don't think oil was the primary purpose. I think the 2000 presidential election was so contentious, that George bush needed to create an enemy to unite the country and to give himself greater power.
I personally find it curious that his brother, Neil, was on the board of a kuwaiti company that had the security contracts for the World Trade Center, Dulles International Airport and American Airlines at the very time all three were principally involved in 9/11. And, that his brothers, Marvin and Jeb, were principals in the World Trade Center insurance carrier that was bailed out by Congress.
It is curiouser still that at the very time of the attack, George Bush was sitting in a pre-school classroom reading to children. When have you ever seen George Bush that he wasn't surrounded by flags and military personnel? It smells like a feeble attempt to establish an hasty alibi.
Then, there is the issue of he and his family profiteering from the attacks and the subsequent war with Iraq; and, their involvement with Dick Cheney and Haliburton. http://democracyrising.us/content/view/57/164/

OK if you think about it hard if the government had that planned to begin with and they had Iraqians hit the trade centers just for some oil why wouldn't we go over their in the first place and just bomb theme and demand for it like we all ways do for example when we wanted there to be no communist government anywhere else we just bombed theme and force theme through force why not know.
