ok i think there are a few different questions here.
1 'isnt it better to wait till your last days and ask for forgiveness than it is to keep going back over and over again?'
No i cant agree with that point here. For one thing if you KNOW that you have committed a sin and refuse to repent of it and would rather have your fun now - what makes you think that your professions of repentance on your deathbed would be accepted when you would have built up a whole host of procrastination between then and now? also that questions presupposes that once you have repented of your sin that you have to keep doing it. The bible shows us different - when God forgives it is a once and for all thing because Jesus died just the once for our sins. After that many will attest to the fact of how much better a new life of knowing you are forgiven is (something else a 'deathbed confession' will miss out on)
2. 'why do people insist you go to church to believe in God?'
other than 'insisting' on going to church - a lot of God fearing peoples find that finding other like minded people a real help in developing their new live as a forgiven sinner in the company of other forgiven sinners. IF you find the right place for you. Some folks dont or havent found the right place for them - but most miss having some place like that.
3. 'if we are all created in his image how come we dont all look alike?'
We are created in his image - we all however have subtle differences. We have 2 eyes, one nose and one mouth with two ears, two arms and two legs are a fairly universal 'norm' for humanity.
But in my opinion we are created in his image is far more to do with us spiritually than physically - hence a pretty much universal desire for worshipping somehting bigger than you yourself are right across the world with varying degrees of accuracy - hence the different religions that have emerged.

Do you know when your last day is? I don't. I could die tomorrow in a car accident. That is why I not only ask for forgiveness of my sins every day, I also try not to repeat them. You see if you ask for forgiveness when you are planing to do it again tomorrow, then you are not truly sorry for doing it in the first place. So you are probably not going to get forgiveness. You're supposed to "repent and sin no more"
As for the "in his image" thing. We all have heads, legs, arms, a body. I'm guessing that man kind is shaped about the same as God.

We will never know when our number comes up so we need to be prepared always.
We were made in the image and likeness of God but not in the physical sense - so we do not all look alike. Each of us were made unique beings. Much like fingerprints, no two persons are exactly the same.
I believe the image and likeness that we share with our Creator is that basic goodness that is rooted deep within ourselves.

I agreed you should wait until your last day...I believe that people who are dieing know when the last day of life is..,All these church going do alls...Don't believe them, you don't have to go to church to believe in GOD...You can workship him in your own home and pray to him also...There no wrong in how you worship GOD...GOD has many images,Don't you think this earth would be a pretty screw-up world and boring if everyone looked alike...

Starting with the last question: Children are created in their parents' images, but they don't all look alike. (That's not rocket science).
People don't all insist that you have to go to church to believe in God. In fact, I've never met anybody who thought or said that.
And it isn't about asking over and over again for forgiveness of sins. The idea of being forgiven is that one is attempting to live a holy Christ-like life in a world of sinfulness. Every day they try to be more like their Master. They ask to be forgiven where they failed each day. It's not like they pray, "Dear God, Please forgive me for stealing and bless me while I go out and do it again tomorrow." It's like they pray, "Dear God, Please forgive me for stealing today and help me not to steal tomorrow." They may not steal the next day, but they may a be unkind to someone, so at the end of that day, they need forgiveness for a different sin: unkindness.
And yes. People do repeat sins, but they try to overcome their bad habits and tendencies, so that in the end, they will be 'safe to save' in God's perfect, peaceful kingdom, where no one ever hurts anyone else again.

this is really a 3 part question aso i should get 6 points
firstly; YES, wait until just before you die and beg forgiveness. its the smart play( hope you get notice)
secondly: Some people think God lives in Church( do not tell them they are wrong or they will kill you)
thirdly:
thoidly: God made us all in his IMAGINATION. ( Image is just a shortening or the word because the jews did not have a lot of ink and so used a lot of abbrviations. this word has been misinterpreted or wrongly translated.. I know because I was there i told them this would happen, but they would not LISTEN!)

In all seriousness, God is not keeping us from fun by requiring us to follow the commandments. God is trying to keep us out of trouble. Most people who are being rebellious to God and His laws are living in Hell right here and now.
They think they are doing what they want but It will come back and bite them in the butt. There is Temporal punishment for those who don't keep God's laws. If you follow the commandments and even better yet the Beatitudes, you will have a life of Joy and experience God Right here and now.
You know, It's Heaven all the way to Heaven and It's Hell All the way to Hell.
Seriously, How is it working for you right now? Have you got any STDs yet? How Many? Any unplanned pregnancies? Police record? Friends you can't Trust or Who don't trust You?
Would you trust you? Do you have an inner Joy or is it crowded out by fun and boredom and dismay & possibly fear. What is your hope for the future? Would you like to be married to someone like yourself?
It's hard to explain to someone who is blinded by sin and Rebeliousness. Sin really takes away your spiritual sight.
In all seriousness, God Bless You, Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. This world is reall a dangerous place. You won't make it out alive without God's Help. In a relationship with Him you will have Joy in this world and in the next, that will surpass all understanding.
God Bless You, ;-)

Well, why put off until tomorrow what you can do today? Seriously, how long is it going to take you to ask forgiveness for something. If you wait until the end of your life you'll waste your last hours alive asking forgiveness.
and you don't have to go to church, people just suggest it because it allows you fellowship with other believers, strength in numbers if you will, to gather and pray for each other.

To begin with to say we are created in God's image means that we have the attributes of God and not that we look like God. God is spirit and we are matter so out physical characteristics are not an image of God. We are able to have free will and decide to love, forgive, have mercy etc. That is the way we are in the image of God. If we truly love God and a truly sorry for offending Him, we should want to ask his forgiveness for our fault. He wants us to be in relationship with Him and we can only do that if we are open to his loving mercy. It is not that we are trying to get something out of our relationship with God but that we want to give back to God for the gift of life and for his mercy.
God bless you,

the theory is that you only ask forgiveness if you seriously don't think you will do it again. there is no point in asking forgiveness for robbing a bank, if while yuou are asking, you are planning the next robbery.
you do not have to go to church to be a christian, yopu just need to believe in christ, and try to follow his example
