One thing is to not litter drive gas electric cars write to your legislative official to put more money in to alternative ways to power homes and vehicles lobby to cut down green gas recycle as much as possible. Do not use harmful chemicals get involved in the community and help your fellow man. There is so many things that can be done but we don’t do them and because of this the earth has to suffer. If we just changed our ways we could make the world more environmentally sound.

First of all "each one teach one", everthing you learn about ways to protect, heal and defend the environment pass it on to a friend. I would start with the simple act of recycling your garbage at home. No I mean REALLY doing it. Put each and every item you can in the recycling. Next actually look for recycled goods and packaging and buy it, reduce, recycle, reuse, close the loop. Then look at your mode of transportation, I only use my car when I have no other option and I own a hybrid. Not everyone can afford hybrids so just think fuel efficiency. Next get involved with your local politics and make sure only environmentally sound candidates get your vote. These are just some small ways each of us can do our part. These thing really don't take much effort and the alternate forms of transportation have the extra added benefit of improved health, a true "win win" decision. If you really want to make a tangible difference in your community for the environment, volunteer for clean ups and recycling outreach programs. Check your local white pages under your cities section for the recycling coordinator, if not listed try the information line for information about vounteer opportunities in your area.

just think about it, then think again
question why you live the way you do, (eg does having a bigger car really make you happier or improve your sex appeal? )
be aware of the concequences of your actions.

Join with like minded people for
Campaigns and acts of protest to counter the destruction;
Building positive alternatives and sustainable ways of living;
creating deeper shift in values, thinking and culture to support this

Remember that there is no "better" for the environment. Gaia will survive the loss of all birds, reptiles and mammals, including humans, without worrying.
I worry about the loss of the natural beauty, of the diversity of life, of human wisdom (there is plenty, but don't look to see it on the Fox network).

Educate others on the environment, don't litter, help pick up any trash you see, advocate for stricter waste laws and emissions on cars, provide birds with food and bird baths, plant vegetation for animals to have more food and habitats, plant riparian buffers (just a bunch of plants) along rivers to help keep them clean and to provide shelter, food, and habitat for a number of species. The main thing you can do is keep the environment clean and safe. One person can make a huge difference, but educating others and getting more involved really makes an impact.

first understand what environment means . basically it is your biotic and abiotic surroundings .
now if you would want to make the world a better place , you have got to see to it that these factors of our environment are taken care of.
BIOTIC
this category consists of the living part of our environment .
so we can better this part by not killing and harming animals that are struggling to survive for purposes like coats and handbags nad skin. but that also does not mean that we can kill to eat. i go for vegetarianism and i am one .and most importantly stop poaching
secondly we should should stop encroaching on the habitats of these creatures and stop unwanted felling of trees . even if we fell trees they should be replaced.Also chemical fertilizers that harm our environment must be stopped.
ABIOTIC
this consists of the non-living part
here we need too see to noise pollution air pollution and water pollution .
i think you would have a fair idea now and will try to strive and attain your goal of making the earth a better place to live in
good luck!

Well I try to recycle what I use, I buy things from thrift stores and reusable items, plan on getting a electric or hybrid car, walk and bike, use public transit and car pool, encourage family members and others to do same or make bigger effort.

When you by a six pack of soda, or a six pack of anything that has the plastic carrier that hold the cans, remove it and cut the plastic rings. These often end up in our waters and birds and other water animals get stuck in them and strangled. So cut them before you throw them away!
