why not put land mines on our borders?

why not make a 100 yard zone that has concussion-type land mines there? fewer border guard would be needed, the mines could be remote controlled so agents could go int the fields for maintenance and to recover those sneaking into our land!
it would not be possible to defeat this system very easily and the noise would bring the agents right to the source of the illegals!
100 yards of mines would be Really hard to get through!
hell we could build a new, rechargable mine that uses compressed gas or something so cost would not continually go up due to replacement.

My family did come here from europe in the mid to late 1800's
legally, although that is a different thing than it is today, before quotas and restrictions.

I am against illegal immigration. But, I think that there is a more humane way of keeping illegal immigrants out. Maybe, we should just fine the employers and fine the countries that don't provide for the people of their countries. There is enough murder and mayhem in the world today.

Being a student of military hardware I have to say I have not heard of a "concussion-type" type of land mine. So its hard for me to imagine this working. IF we are to clear a 100 yard zone (much of which is private property) then we might as well build a wall. The connotation of "land mines" is ugly; its hard enough to get the left to accept building a barrier of any kind.
