My dog. He sleeps all day, eats well, and hangs out in my bed more than I do. My girlfriend pets him and tells him that he's the greatest and snuggles up to him more so than she does with me. I also cuddle with him more than I cuddle with her, so I guess were even. Then, there's the walks, the casual bum sniffing, and the ability to pee or poo anywhere. Plus, since he's a basset hound, girls with large breasts come out of nowhere to flirt with him and inevitably break out some lame joke about him being the "Hush Puppy" dog. Yeah, my basset hound. If I were any dog in the world, I'd be him.

I think the breed that best matches my personality is a Cocker Spaniel. They are loyal to the people close to them, hate change and "tolerate" hyper children. But never get between one and their food. Yep that's me.
As for what dog I would "like" to be... definitely my dog, Precious. She is a mutt, but man is she spoiled rotten.
Laying around in the air conditioning all day, free meals, lots of attention, no responsibilities other than barking whenever a car pulls into the drive or someone rings the doorbell.
Sounds like THE LIFE, huh?

I would be a lab, I am partial to chocolate labs. I would be strong and athletic, able to be a terrific family pet, a hunting companion, or a guide dog for a blind person or assistance dog for an autistic or handicapped person. They are a versatile breed and have a gentle disposition usually, so I know wherever I was placed I could be useful and most likely cherished. This is the ultimate breed in my opinion.

a pug...The dog has a short, compact body; a large, round, and massive head with profuse wrinkles; a short, square, and blunt muzzle; large, bold, dark eyes; straight legs; and a tightly curled tail. The coat is close-haired, soft, and glossy. The color of the pug is silver or apricot-fawn with a black mask, in either case with a black trace from the middle of the skull to the tail; or it is solid black. The animal is about 30 cm (about 12 in) high at the shoulder and weighs about 6 to 8 kg (14 to 18 lb). Because of its alertness, tractability, and friendliness, the pug is a popular pet.

I lost a beloved raggety-ann of an abandoned pood. She lived on me. I was disabled considerably by then...in a moment of haste I saw "Monkey-Dog" across the street and jumped to the door and called. I saw white legs and black. The white, now sitting on my powerchair, came running; my precious "Monkey" lay prostrate in the street. That was 3-years ago and I still have writers' block.

The dog I would like to be is the that lives in our street. He's a 'pavement special' (Pavement = sidewalk. Very mixed breed) His name is Bonifacio, Boney for short. He belongs to the watchmen that patrol our street. This dog runs around the neighbourhood like he owns the place. He looks down his nose at all the 'pedigree' dogs, as if to say: You poor suckers, you are cooped up in your yards all day, and look at me, free as a bird. He only barks at me, I am the only foreigner living on the street. Everybody feeds him, and he goes for 'walks' with all and sundry. (Except me, he doesn't like me, but he loves my dog, she's a female.) My neighbour is a vet, so Boney has a check-up at least once a week. Boney is the man!

That's a hard question to answer, as I would rather be any of the 3:
1) Golden Retriever for their friendly attitude and loves everyone
2) Boxer with their lean physique and active lifestyle
3) Malamute for the size and wolf colored eyes
