Breakfast:
Lobster Eggs Benedict
Recipe courtesy Paul Williamson, Schooner Ellida, Rockland, Maine
Recipe Summary
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 5 servings
User Rating:
Hollandaise sauce:
1 stick (4 ounces) butter, sliced
4 egg yolks
1 lemon, juiced
Lobster roe (orange immature lobster eggs, availability depends on the luck of the lobster)
1 tablespoon butter
1 (1 1/2 pound) lobster, cooked and shelled (a good way to use leftovers from shore dinner!)
10 slices, about 1/2 pound, Canadian bacon
5 English muffins, split
10 eggs
Minced fresh parsley
Paprika
Melt half of the butter in top of double boiler over hot, but not boiling, water. Add egg yolks while stirring. Add remaining butter and stir until melted, keeping heat low under double boiler. Crumble lobster roe as finely as possible and stir into sauce. Add lemon juice slowly. Set aside and keep warm. Sauce will thicken as rest of dish is prepared.
In a skillet melt 1 tablespoon butter. Dice the cooked lobster meat and saute quickly in the melted butter to heat through. Remove to a bowl and keep warm.
Brown the Canadian bacon in the same skillet and keep warm. Toast the split English muffins.
Poach the eggs for about 3 minutes in an egg poacher, or in skillet of water with a tablespoon of vinegar added. Whites and edge of yolks should be set, center of yolk still liquid.
For each serving, place 2 toasted muffin halves on a plate and carefully layer on lobster meat, Canadian bacon slices, and poached eggs. Cover with Hollandaise sauce. Garnish with minced fresh parsley and paprika.

speaking as a single guy, i personaly would not expect my wife to cook or rather be the only cook. try getting a good cook book and just practice until you get it right if your worried.
personally I rely solely on the capabilities of my combination microwave (the double grill and regular oven built into a microwave) this does me perfectly as i currently don't have to prepare meals for anyone but me.
seriously though most guys can't cook either so don't worry, you have a lifetime to get good, and any guy who expects you to be solely or more than 50% responsible for cooking the meals is not worth being with so just get rid of him.
as to answer to your question on the fridge message, no need to put it up unless you want it up, just tell your pottential partner before your married that your not very good at cooking, if he loves you hewill be more than happy to help with the cooking, and you can both follow a recipe or two from a cook book or from www.recipe.com for ideas.
you can then both learn together. it will only make the relationship stronger if you spend time doing something you both like.
i hope that makes sense.
good luck.

Well, learn how to cook. Even if you don't get married it's a useful life skill - saves you an enormous amount of money in the long run and usually means you eat more healthily. Being able to cook isn't something that makes you marriageable though - that seems to me to be a rather old-fashioned way of looking at marriage (and also one that has kept women chained to the sink in the past) - whoever can cook should do the cooking, also depending on which of you works longest hours.

Don't say you will be the worst wife in the world! I couldn't boil water when I got married and now I am a great cook. Just takes practice. Get a few cookbooks, watch the cooking shows on the tele, they can be fun to watch and above all....maintain that sense of humor.

I was the same way you were when I first got married. But with a little help from friends and there differnt ideas to make food. I have learned how to make alot. You just have to try thing out and as you make them more often it will get better each time. Just try talking to some friend you know that have made a dish, and try it. Or get some ideas on line and try it out. YOu will be ok. Good luck!

Hey you're witty, you have a sense of humor and restaurants were made for people who can't cook so I'd say you're going to be a great wife and even better than that a great wife who kisses well. What more could a guy want.

I didn't know how to cook when I first met my husband. And I got crap from his family about it. But I learned on my own. My husband cooks too. So it's great when we really get in there and cook together. I think your kissing will get you to marriage, but that's about it! Your husband and children are going to want to eat someday ya kno! LOL
