Of course, many of you know that an education is not everyone's way of learning. I have learned so much on this site, so many great answers about type one diabetes. Thank you. Do you think schooling is the answer or do you know that smarts also come from different sources; Yahoo Answers is a great source of learning.

I hated school when I was in it, and I hate that they made me go now that I've barely graduated. You couldn't pay me to go to college, and I never plan on having a career in anything other than kicking ***. Involuntary schooling is not the answer. Boot camp is the answer.

A very wise man wo was the manager of software development at a large mainframe company once told me this:

When you get your degree, it proves several things to us.
1. You have learned how to learn.
2. You know how to dig up answers to problems.
3. You have a good enough long termmemory to get through all the exams.
4. You have enough patience to sit through 4 years of classes even when you have no idea what you might do with what they are teaching you.

Armed with that, when you are out of school and get your first real job, we are sure we can teash yo what you really need to know."

Education is much more than "learning stuff". At the rate technology is progressing now, the actual classroom material will be outdated by the time you graduate. The real value is learning to learn and learning an organized way of thinking. Very few people can manage as well on intellegence alone as they might if they are educated.

schooling is not always the answer, life experience is more valuable. But in this world, education is very important to be able to hold a job that pays a decent salary. So, if you care about being financially secure and you're not going to run into some huge inheritance, or win the lottery, then schooling will help you get through life a little more comfortable.

School is great but life experiance tends to teach a whole lot too. There are things you can learn in one that you can't learn in the other.
