you didn't say if your cat eats wet or dry food. if you're feeding he/she wet food, it will cause the poo to be, shall we say, more aromatic?

switch him/her to a dry cat food. not the cheap generic stuff that's all corn meal, but a high quality dry food. this will lessen the smell of the poo some.

in addition to feeding the cat dry food, i'd also scoop the turds as soon as she's done with the litterbox. it only takes a second and its better if the smelly turds are in the trash can rather than just laying out in the open stinking up the place.

good luck!

I saw this and wanted to say I thought my cat was alone.I feed my cat Purina Indoor and have noticed a big increase in the odor problem. And the vet said she is healthy. The Purina Indoor has more vegetable type content and it kind of does to cats what veggies can do to people(if you don't know what can happen..eat a head of cabbage with corn mixed in).I have taken her off of it now and just let her have a veggie treat and put a Stick-Up by the box until her system gets back to normal.
Also, remember that sometimes just changing a diet can cause digestive problems. So if you change back you might still have a problem for a while.

I do not wish to insult you, but Poo is poo. Pay attention to flavor or varity of brand. If turkey & giblets stinks more than grilled feast don't do turkey. I have found that Ever Clean litter is the best litter. But there is fallbacks on litter.#1,costly#2Can not purchase at any given store, must go to a pet center, and #3 litter does track around litter pan area. Also, wet can food should be served served once daily and make sure it is small cans for 1 cat. And never give give your feline dairy products. To be matter of fact, fish is not what cats hunt in the wild. They are attracted to fish due to the decomposing smell.I hope this can help you. Good luck.

Some pet food brands actually make special formulas for indoor cats to reduce the smell of their feces. Royal Kanon makes such a formula. Arm & Hammer makes a special formula of baking soda just for litter boxes. Also, I have noticed that my cat's litter box smells a lot worse when she is eating more canned food than when she eats dry food.

Try changing to a high quality cat food (usually available at pet stores or feed stores). I've been feeding my cats EVO dry, which seems to have gotten rid of most of the smell. You may want to change litter, too. If that doesn't help, talk with the vet.

There is kitty litter on the market that does reduce the smell. One needs to change the litter each day to make it worth while . I am a dog owner , but my daughter has a cat .
When some cats get sick they have more smelly droppings. Check with your pet store .

It could be a lot of things. The cat food she eats could be causing it. It could also be from a bacteria in the intestines. You can use baking soda in the cat litter to help with the smell.

Switch to a quality food such as Felidae.

Also, use good litter (I use granulated) and scoop out the solid as soon as the cat uses it. Once in awhile, you can mix in a little Arm and Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer in with the litter

I suggest you be more careful where you're putting your nose. Sorry, seriously you might want to take her to the vet to make sure she's not having some kind of intestinal problem because if she is that could be the problem here.
