alot of times kids come up with cute little names that every one else shakes there head at, pumpkin is close to that so maby there child couldn't say it and it came out pipkin. if you adopted her/him from a shelter you might give hem a call and ask if any one knows the answer. good luck.

Is she orange colored. Might be a child's way of saying pumpkin?
Or a combo of Pip pi and Pumpkin. Or a name the shelter gave her. They come up with some great ones.

Hun, I really have no idea. But my cat's previous owner named *him* Berniece? Maybe these people should have road the "short" bus to school!

Maybe they wanted to name it after Pipen from the play but felt creative at the last moment. ^-^

it's an old sioux name for 'poo your pants'. it's not cherokee. the cherokee couldn't spell their way out of a wet teepee.
