Humans are omnivores, like the primates we descended from. Some people choose to do what pandas do, live solely on plant matter even though they could eat only meat.
The notion that any living thing should not eat any other living thing is ludicrous. If it's alive, it has DNA and can be eaten. (Unless you have an allergy, of course...)
I don't approve of cannibalism in any way, but even that is common in the animal kingdom. Think about it: what could be a more perfect source of food than something that has the exact same genetic code as you, the exact same proteins and carbohydrates?

To "BroadwayPhil": I can think of another reason not to eat meat that you might agree with: allergies to shellfish. (Unless, of course, you want such people to die.... ^_^)

I think it is part of nature for us to eat meat. Other animals eat meat. Why do we have have to suffer? I was a vegetarian once that lasted a couple of hours then I had to go get a steak. As a matter of fact I'm starving right now.

If you're hungry enough, you'll eat anything. And who said we shouldn't eat animals? Why do some people eat dandelions (now that is disgusting) and tree bark (gag, spit, choke). If people didn't have to eat, then we would never think about eating animals!! People are meat. Just throw yourself into a lion's den and see what happens. Now do the lion's say, "we shouldn't eat meat"? I don't think sooo.....

If you read though your bible you will find out that what you are talking about was before jesus was crucified and after he rose on the third day some laws changed. He made animals so man could eat .God is not the auther of confusion the devil is and he makes you question and doubt every thing thats in the bible at some point and time. But read the word ,just remember it says nothing shall be taken away or added to his word.

There are two proposed reasons why one should not eat animals. The first is advanced by vegetarians and vegans, that meat is bad for the human body and that we are not fully adapted to eat it. The second is religious, depending on the religion: all creatures have spirits (i.e. souls) and we are to avoid killing them, let alone eating them. This is common in various Eastern religions.
I don't subscribe to either belief.

The Bible states which animals to each and not eat. Its all dictated by the hooves.
Pigs I do know we are not suppose to eat even though we do.
