Those should keep your conversation going for a while!
The best question I can give you is "Why?"
That can be applied to just about any conversation topic, and it gives you a lot of insight into his ways of thinking and his personality.

Why not try, Whats your name? Are you kidding me? You seriously want to know how to talk to someone? Try using your mouth! Do you ask people how to use the restroom before you go? I swear some people can be so stupid! I blame your parents!
