I belive that you should cause even though you feel your opinion isn't needed sometimes people forget what they already know and need to be reminded by another voice so that they pay more attention to the danger coming to them.

Depends on how well you know them. If your advice is unnecessary and could hurt the relationship, then keep it. If it is asked for, then give it compassionately. Sometimes just the fact that you acknowledge they have a situation, and you keep your advice, is of a greater comfort. Various scenarios could lend a most appropriate means by which to approach the given situation.
