No solution. They have to heal on their own. Just keep appying topical ointments to relieve some of the itching. Hillbilly remedies like clear nail polish don't work. Air has nothing to do with it. They have embedded themselves in the skin. They will die and fall out after several days.

Cover them with nail polish. I recommend clear as it'll be less noticeable. But pretty much any of them will work.
It works by cutting off the oxygen to the bite.
Also, you can try ammonia. There's a product called "after bite" that works pretty darn good on all kinds of bites and should be a necessity when going out in the woods.

try clear nail polish it drys them up and some how stops the itch.
