Your dog has allergies. Mine has that problem also. My vet suggested the same thing and it does work.

it is probably a allergy. put some warm compresses on the dog to help reduce the swelling .and see if it helps. I still would go to another vet. just for a second opinion. it could have been a bite or a bee sting. have the second vet do a neurological exam. and get something for those eyes. the duct could be shunted or infected i really think your first vet did not do there job those eyes must hurt! if there is excessive tearing and the eyes are flowing like the Niagara falls it is a blocked duct. don't use over the counter crap, pay the piper.!!!!!

Yeah, it sounds like Allergies or an allergic reaction. Benadryl works like a miracle. I found the trick is to use children's Benadryl and the ratio is like 3 mg. per 25 lbs. Might want to call a vet just to double check ratio.

I would guess from your info. that the left tear duct is clogged or infected from a scratch. I believe they sale medicated eye drop's for children over the counter at your local groc. or Walgreen's and would be the safest way to go without seeing the vet!!

benadryl is harmless to ur dog just dont give it too much the sensitivity to light is caused by the benadryl and it will also cause sleepiness and i expect him to be better in just a few days

Doesnt sound like allergies...could he/she have been bitten by an insect? Maybe an infection or abcess? Get another vet and have the puppy checked asap.

Aww, I ♥ Dalmations, I had a collection, and I painted my room like one. Except it turned out looking like a cow. Oh well.

Sounds like allergies. My daughter's G.R. has them & was prescribed Benedryl. He's fine now.
