Personally speaking, and this by no means is canon Law or church law or any kind of teaching within the church, but personally speaking, I know many good people who have never stepped into a church, except for maybe a wedding or funeral and have died, and I have a hard time accepting that a God who I have been taught is all loving, all forgiving would simply toss someone aside simply for "not" beleiving in Him. Wat to many I meet, consider we are in Hell here on earth, and we are judged worthy by the way we deal with everything here. But simpy based on the teachings I know now...no...I think that those who are "basicly good", "basicly moral" are admitted to heaven.

One of the reason I began to question this is because a pastor in California couldn't anwer this very question. I also asked why people that did not believe in Jesus would perish and why should a whole culture (Jewish) be forced to perish for being a religion which the vast majority are born into. He still had no answer. I don't think my god or any god would be so pompous. I resigned my Christianity. I'm a still very spirtual.

first of everybody is wrong the word hell does not even appear once on the bible, and look around maybe some of you did but i defenetly did not com from a monkey, or any hairy animal, we've been created in a marvellous way that no human will ever be able to even come close to duplicating. plus god promises life forever here in earth psalms 37:9,10,11 REMEMBER God is love and he would never make us suffer for ever specially burning for ever that is just stuff that some guy invented a long time ago (NOT JESUS)

This seems to be a misconception of what heaven and hell are. Heaven is the presence of God and the place reserved for those redeemed by Christ. Hell is separation from God and the place for those not redeemed by Christ. They are not assigned places for so called "good" and "bad" people.
Sin, in it's most basic form, is to reject God thus it is what causes mankind, as a whole, to be separated from Him (for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God). A person is only brought back into the presence of God by the redeeming work of Christ.
So Heaven and Hell are not places for the good and the bad but places and states of being for the redeemed and unredeemed.

It is interesting that you think that a person could be good without God. Once Adam and Eve sinned, it passed down through their children. That would be all of us. The bible says there is nothing in man that is good without God, who is good. My question to you would be, If you don't believe in God and don't obey his word, what are you measuring you goodness by. How can you tell what is good and what is not. For most people who don't believe in God what is good is what makes them feel comfortable. In God's eyes what is good is what is good for his children to prosper and grow. Some people don't like that b/c they want to do what feels good instead what is good, and the latter usually takes more work to preform.

It's not a cult! It was just the Ultimate sacrifice for sins!
If a person does not believe in Jesus as their personal Savior, yes, they Will be burning In Hell no matter how nice they were on Earth!

How do you know that good people who don't believe in God go to hell? Have you been there? Did you read it in the bible? Did God say so? Why do you lose faith in God just because a preacher can't give you good enough reasons for their sermons? Stop going to that church, don't stop believing God. I find it sad that people stop believing in God just because of what other people say. Does God tell them to speak these words? Why should you be mad at God for that? The bible was written by mortals, not by God.

Sin... All people sin Christian or not... But you have to ask for forgiveness. And if you are not a Christian and you pray to God for forgiveness, he knows whether you are true or not, he is all knowing and he knows whether you are sincere and you may be a good person and help others, but the first lie you ever told or the first time you looked at someone with lust you sinned and so you have to believe in God to pray for forgiveness with a sincere heart because if you just pray and mean nothing then God knows....

God gave us free will - that is our gift - He could scare us into worshipping Him but He doesn't because we have to choose that path. If you believe in Hell and are scared of it, then you must also believe in God. Ask Him to work in your life and when you see what He can do I think it will help you to come to know Him. Different religions believe different things about our way into heaven, I believe that all you need to do is accept Jesus as your Savior and try to live your life according to his laws. I screw up every single day but he still loves me and I know I am going to heaven. Whose to say that Jesus doesn't give everyone one final opportunity to choose him just before they enter the gates or descend into Hell ? I will pray for your spiritual journey.

If you don't believe in Jesus then how can you believe there is a heaven. You can't get there by just being a good person. There are tons of "GOOD" people in the world. You have to trust in God, put faith and live for Him to get to Heaven!
Also, you should always capitalize God and Jesus.

in islam which is my religion there is a say that the prophet mohammed said :((the acts depend on the thought )) so if someone was told that he must believe in god and if he was given reasons and still didn't believe then i think that he must go to hell because god gave him a mind to think with.
