A) Recommend a job that doesn't require drug tests. (Mall stores like Aeropostle though mostly teens work there or McDonalds)
B) Show him what it will be like if he doesn't quit. (Show pics of drugies that are now hobos and alone)

Obviously this is now a habit, and an addiction like cigarette smoking. I know a ton of potheads that still function on a daily basis, because they have to. If he doesn't have a job, how is he paying for all that weed? I think that rehab may be the only thing that could really straighten him out, but of course, he has to be willing to go, because you cant help someone who doesn't want to be helped.

Sounds like he needs to get into a line of work that doesn't require drug testing. It doesn't sound to me like he is even remotely considering quitting marijuana and there is nothing you can do about that. When he gets to a really low point and he is on the verge of homelessness and bankruptcy, maybe he will clean up his act and get a job.

you cant help someone who doesnt want to be helped. He needs a reality check. Almost every place gives drug tests, and drugs are nowhere near as important as having a job and taking care of yourself and family. I gave it up for that reason a long time ago. You cant keep lookng over your shoulder wondering if you're going to pass the drug test, or if they are going to pick you for the random drug test at work. Its not worth what you end up sacrificing.

Pot puts you on a differnet level of thinking... He has issues with his past.. That is why he hasnt stopped... he escapes with pot.. puts him on a different level.. Keeps you sain.. So they think.. People like that can't quit... remember you met him with this addiction... Deal with it.. Dont ever think you can meet someone and change them...Thats not love... You meet them and fall in love with the person they are.. Now you need to accept it.. good luck!

Go out and buy some twinkies, and then twist up another one for him. Otherwise, he will quit when he has found the "one" reason and motivation that hits home specifically to him, and no one else.

I know there are places to get one to deal with his/her addictions. Having someone there to help you is key factor. I would do a search for rehab to get in a program.

well if he`s smoked over 20 yrs. its hard probably to just quit cold turkey i assume. i don`t smoke, used to when i was teen, k i lied 5 yrs ago, but i can put it down and been clean for 5 years. well my sugestion is that he tries to go get help if he really wants to stop and find a job.counsling or other groups that can help, BUT REMEMBER you cannot really help him, he has to WANT to help himself first.

You can't help someone who is addicted to marijuana unless they take the step to get help themselves. It won't do you any good unless they want the help.

Sure can... First thing is that marijuana is NOT addictive. Crack is, marijuana is NOT. Quitting is a matter of quitting, there's noting to it.
