I think so. It doesn't seem like that big of a miracle. I mean, they did have boats back then. I am sure Jesus, having gone to college until he was thirty would have at least learned how to float. Besides the water was probably just frozen. And who coudn't walk on that?

does anybody know WHICH body of water he walked across? And can you prove that body never freezes? Seeing how weather changes over time how can you be certain what the climate was like 2000 years ago?

You should probably explore in more depth whether or not it is simpler to presume some sort of illusion or technology, or if it is simpler to simply say "it never happened at all, and the story is just a story".

Personally, even a first hand witness is not enough to overcome skepticism of outrageous claims. But we don't even have that. The stories of Jesus walking on water are at LEAST 50 years after his purported death, and possibly as much as 150 years later. If the first records of the US civil war were just now being penned, and they included fantastic stories about people walking on water, how seriously would you take them? That's basically what the gospels are.

Jesus walking on water was only half of the miracle (or feat) that occurred just a short bit later.

If you continue reading the story, you will see that Peter wanted to walk on water, and Jesus told him to come outl.

Unfortunately, Peter, in a moment of pride, looked back to the others, showing off. He turned from looking at Jesus. He started sinking.

Peter called out to Jesus, and (and here's the double miracle) Jesus walked on water, while holding up Peter, to the boat!

People talk about the miracle of Jesus walking on water, but miss the fact that He, while hanging onto Peter, walked on water for *both* of them.

What strikes me is how human beings have difficulty believing Jesus walked on water, became water into wine, yet settle for that he's God contained in the flesh and is able to speaking the cosmos into actual being with a be conscious, and saving humanity with his blood.

Here's the damnedest thing, each human, just like Jesus did, we each have the power within us to walk on water and through walls, to travel in the astral plane, and to do millions of other nifty little things. We in general as humans are to busy or lazy to take the time out of schedules to hone into the Universal power and make these "miracles" happen. "God" told us didn't he that we were made in his image? Was not Jesus made in his image as well? So then why do you chose not to walk on water? As for me I'm too busy messing around on this silly site.

Yes He did. Sea of Galilee. He was going to Gennesaret. Matt14:34
And prior to that He had fed 5 thousand with five loads of bread and two fishes.

He is God, remember. There is nothing in scriptures about the sea beeing frozen.

If Jesus was able to perform instantaneous healings and come back to life after he died, I don't think he would need the water to be frozen to be able to walk on it. Miracles don't have to be explained to be considered true events. If you have to explain the plausibility of a miracle, then you begin to deny the power of God.

Tsk, tsk. Don't let a little thing like doubt get in the way of the truth. Believe. He DID walk on water. I'm sure any of the apostles didn't want to believe at first either. Imagine their issues!!

The story also depicts stormy seas and boats. Boats cannot move on icy water. Peter sank on this same water when he went to Jesus.

If Jesus can do a powerful miracle like bringing back the dead, then you should have no difficulty in believing that.

Read the bible more often and you will know more about Jesus
