a job offer will fast track your visa not your immigration process. If you have a job offer in hand you can be given a work visa at the port of entry. But as in the other posts...Alberta in general is starving for trades people... housing is growing there quicker than they can build them.

In no way does it speed up your papers for immigration, just lets you get to work quick thats all. You still need to go through the motions with immigration for your permanent residency & then citizenship. And that takes a few years, so don't expect it to be done in a couple months.

My husband who is coming from the US...probably will take 7-12months just to get his paperwork. Not a quick process trust me.

Depends on your qualifications. Those with degrees form certain countries are not up to standard in Canada and if they still wish to pursue their choosen occupation then they will have to return to University here for qualification. Check your credentials first with the government. They have a pamphlet that shows what degree is acceptable in Canada versus what you already have. A number of immigrants have arrived in Canada with high degrees but unable to get a job in their field due to different schooling. Check into it before you are disappointed upon arrival. Also it is not that easy getting a position since applications ask the question if you have Canadian work experience. Good luck.

Look in Alberta for jobs, they're begging for workers.
