The other night i sat here and chose best answer for lots of people and no one even said thanks.........whats the deal with you people?

You are absolutely right! Everyone should say Thank You when given something...especially 10 pts! If you chose mine, I would say a very gracious Thank You. I always try to add a comment of Thanks...it's important. =)

I think there are several reasons.
First is that many people, don't know how.
Example, when I write thank you notes I prefer to do it in private, so I e-mail. However many don't offer an email address in their profile. Check your profile, how would a person sned you a thank you?
Once a question is resolved, the person can't go back and add to it, and many don't know how to do comments.
On many forums, the 'Thank You' is assumed.
While many of us would like to think we do this, to help others and share information... the points do add a bit of enjoyment. ;-)

your thank you are the points you get back for choosing a best answer , you cant claim a good deed , expect thanks when actually it was helping you , and then be upset over not receiving a thanks
