where they are 3 types of this. blind fold. strapped to a board or table and lowered under water. 2nd is blind folded and mouth held open and water poured in it. 3rd is blind folded and have a small amount of water dripped on to the face. all 3 give the fear of drowning.

Captive is strapped to a body sized plank that's hinged over a large pool or tank of water. As questioning continues, the captor dunks the captive under water and holds him there to the brink of drowning. Captive is returned to a position out of the water and re-asked the question, usually with the correct answer.
