Am I Pathetic or in love? i don't know what to do.?

i have feelings for someone in Mexico and i am in the US i never have met this person but we talk on the phone and on the internet almost everyday we have known ea other for the past 5 yrs. we care about ea deeply but how do i know he feels the same way? he says it sometimes but not as much as he used to. i have been wanting to meet this person but i don't know if i should spend my money seeing him b/c he said its hard for him to come see me since he isn't a citizen. should i spend the money or just move on n start meeting new ppl and jump starting my love life? talking to him i think has stopped me from dating ppl but im not sure...im so lost and confused i would like ppl's advice thank you

if you feel that really strong connection with him then maybe you could try, but i don't know if you would want to or not. it might not be a good idea for you to go out of the country and visit. and that much distance is probably a lot of distance. i think you should keep talking to him, but only as a friend; i don't think it could work. it would probably be a better idea to find someone else closer to home. it would probably be a bit less stressful and your parents would probably be happier with it.

but still, if you feel very committed to this guy already and think that you want to spend the rest of your life with him, then go ahead. i don't think it would hurt to try and meet him, but it might be better for you to fly him up here instead of you flying down there

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have a friend online that Ive known for a good solid 8 years now. We both got to the point that we knew if we were to meet we'd probably want to start dating. I know that I love him and that he loves me. I know he used to say he cared about me a lot more than he does now, but men are men..they just have a harder time saying or expressing themselves clearly. I really think you do love him, but love takes a lot of forms. I love my friend deeply and care a lot about him, but I can't love him as anything more than that because I have yet to meet him. I think you do love him, but just not in the "im in love with you" sense. I say you should still keep in touch with him, but if a dating oppurunity presents itself don't let it go. There might be a reason that he is in mexico and your in the states...
