No, hun. Its called bi-polar. But usually it doesn't go so fast. So maybe its not bi-polar and just another mood disorder like Depression can cause mood swings along with other forms of anxiety disorders. Stop and sit. Think and write down whats going on in your life thats out of your control that might be bothering you. If your already laughing thinking wow, too much. Then you have an answer. If you need to think about it, then do so, you may find what that your anxious, depressed or need to see a doctor. I recommend seeing a General Practicioner, he can always recommend someone that specializes if he thinks you need it. And I doubt you do, GP's give out some good medications for anxiety and depression.

No matter how fast your emotions change, this is not a matter of "good" and "bad."

The question to ask yourself is Does this effect my ability to function? If the answer is Yes, then this pattern needs to be changed. If the answer is No, then leave well enough alone.

Rapid emotional change is often the result of extreme stress which causes a chemical imbalance in the nervous system. This is not insanity. Medical or psychiatric help can usually lessen the stress and restore the chemical balance.

It sounds like bipolar to me. Sometimes things probably feel hopeless, other times you probably can't sit down. Go see a psychiatrist, but start with your doctor. Don't be discouraged when you start taking the meds either. Listen to the people around you, and trust them. The first thing they put you on may not make you as good as you think you are. Just for your info, if the side effects are too much on the first one, tell them and they can switch you too.

These rapid mood swings should be investigated because your quality of life is affected tremendously. It could be hormonal fluctuations, but there really are many reasons possible. After ruling out any organic physical cause, a psychologist or counselor may help. A psychiatrist could help with providing appropriate medications if needed. Get better soon.

It's called raging hormones. So you aren't going insane. It happens to my friends all the time. I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing, though....so I can't really help you there.
