To me that just makes me shiver when I hear someone say that to describe someone else. It makes them sound old, tough and bitter. I don't think it's an appropriate term to use, especially about a lady. I could be wrong and there may be a lot of you who disagree with me.

Some people these days are describing senior citizens as seasoned citizens. If you think about seasoning a meal, sometimes the longer you let the meal sit the better it is with the seasonings. So describing someone as seasoned is a sort of compliment because they have had the chance to become better than they were some time ago. As far as people being offended, that is personal. The people at my church have different groups, one for seniors, one for 40's and 50's and the senior group calls themselves the Geezers. It gets a laugh and they have fun.

That's me, I'm 'well seasoned'. I'm getting up in the years, I'm tough as an old leather boot, but I'm not bitter. I've just done a whole lot of living in my life. Done alot of things, been alot of places, learned alot of things. It's been a good life. I'm content.

think about if you were eating a well seasoned steak, or chicken, it would have many varieties of flavors and different textures the same with people. A well season person is one with many different experiences in life, and a variety of knowledge that makes them interesting and colorful.

Yeah, it sounds like a piece of meat getting ready for the grill...but I guess it's better than "old and worn out."
