But even though she's making up excuses, she also left me a long im message on my phone and keeps telling me to call her, then I see her again after like a year and she has a big smile on her face?

Maybe the first date wasn't all that.
She still can be interested in the guy but feels that there is no chemistry, so then he is now added to the friend list!

why would you think a girl is interested if she always says she's busy? That's usually a nice way of saying i don't want to hurt your feelings and I don't want to go out again.

When a woman is always busy, that means that she is not interested but don't forget that a woman can use a guy for sex also.

sounds like u done ur part step back let her deceide. if she comes to u, then the relationship (if theres one) will be stronger. u won't always feel like u r the only one that cared. don't let it consume ur life, remember u really don't know her.
