this is meant more as a personal challenge for Christians out there.

As a Christian, are you worshipping God, or your denomination?

i am associated with one particular denomination, however i have a great deal of respect for many others. How many out there are like me?

(Name some of the other denominations that you like.)

My self i Love all my brother's and sister's in Christ are we not all children of God I am non denominated but i would visit any church that teaches the true word of God there are many false prophets in the world beware if the are not speaking the full truth Satan knows the word of God very well and he has been twisting the truth from the beginning.

I respect all who Love our Lord God there's might be more denominations then i even know about.
1. Nazarene
2. Baptist
3. Pentecost
4. Church of Christ
5. Catholic
6. Presbyterian
7. Seven Day Adventist

But you are right you should not worship your denomination but the head of the Church and that is God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and we are his body. many members one body just like our human body has arms and hands and legs and feet the body of Christ also has these member which are the different churches. but it only takes one bad teacher to spoil the whole flock.

Consider this! The Bible is the official source of our knowledge about Christanity as well as the jewish faith - Old and New Testaments. Jesus, before rising to heaven told Peter, "You are the rock upon which I will build my church, the gates of hell will not previal against it and I shall be with you always. The last book of the Bible says, This is the word of GOD, nothing shall be added and nothing shall be taken away! According to Historians, no named religion appears until after the 1500s. We find only the words Christanity, and the church. Where were all these other denominitations for over 1500 years? Too, notice that all can be traced back to some man as their founder but not Jesus Christ. Too, they all use so called Bibles with different wording in them?
Some even go as far as to say that ythe are a VERSION of the Bible, not the Bible but a version of it! I guess the statement that This is the Word of GOD and that nothing may be taken away, and nothing can be added is just a punch line that is up for grabs. Many call the name of JESUS, but all too few, know the history of their faith or read the bible.

I'm Mormon, but before I converted I was Methodist. My Dad's side of the family is mostly Church of Christ, with a few Southern Baptists, a couple of Christians who don't go to any church, ever, and a Jew. My Mom's side is Methodist, Southern Baptist, Pentecostal, Non-Denominational, Episcopalian. So I guess those are the ones I'm most familiar with. As far as respecting religions, I think all faiths have some truth.

I am an Episcopalian. While it is the best church for me, I find that I love a Catholic mass and feel the spirit while in a Catholic Church.

I have attended services in other denominations too; Lutheran, Presbyterian. I find the silence and calmness of the Episcopal and Catholic service suits me the best.

As for theology, while I respect all types of Christianity, I would have tough time attending any church that emphasizes a literal interpretation of The Bible, or did not allow women to be pastors/priests.

Peace be with you.

I respect all other denominations and religions of the world, as they all contain truths, and often many valid teachings of Christ that differ from Catholicism (my denomination). Some denominations I will admit I find a lot easier to understand than others, though -- the cult religions I cannot accept, like the fundamentalist portion of Mormons who still promote polygamy.

I'm a member of the church of Christ which is not a denomination. I have respect for most people in other faiths as they are trying to get to Heaven like me but the church I have the most respect for is the one I attend - or I wouldn't be going there! :) Besides the church of Christ though the church I respect the most is the Catholic church because they have striven to preserve christianity for hundreds of years - long before the denominations of today even existed and I think that is extraordinary! :) I'm not saying members of the Catholic church or my fellow believers are perfect but I respect them.

When I was in high school I wen to young life, I didnt know it but that was Assembly of God, then when I was in college, I went to Campus life, didnt know it but that wa sassebly of God; I was raise Methodis, changed to Epsicipal, now am looking into Orthodox, I Love their Art and Icon beleife, and their lituragy; and why they love and revere the Icon;s I never unstood that part, i always thought it was worshiping idols but its not, its more deeper and simples than that, its about remembering sacafices and deaths of men and women, not worshiping idols; I also love the Rosary of roman catholic but nothing, absoluty nothing else. I like the idea of the Congrationist church being, well, congregational in its organzation, not ruled by some figure head 45,000 mile saway who knows nothing about anything of their anybody in their anywheres....
- i like your q; are you worshipping God or your demonination? i hope that by being faithful to the church, I am worshiping God, in the right way, through the Right vneue, not necessarily the best demonination.

I very much respect the mennonites. They are such sweet people being in the world and not faltering even when they are so different. The other is the Mormons. They have commitment and have strong families. And they get married beyond the grave.
