I passed on my second time when I was 18, but I didn't like the attitude of the second trooper I did it with because while he was nicer than the first, he slammed the dashboard of my car because I got an answer wrong he asked me then grilled me for not having a girlfriend saying "why not", then he bitched because he was too tall for the car. Was there anything behind this?

Its power........they think they have so much more power and it goes to there heads........i once got pulled over for speeding alil and the guy was yelling at me so i yelled back....not the smartest way but i was drunk .....what can u do? lol......i find it funny i just laugh.....pissed him off more......laugh it works

You could always move to a state where the state troopers are not involved in the driving test.
And, BTW, I don't think the officer was a prick. The prick was probably the only other person in the car.

He was probably having a bad day. It happens when you've been testing "kids" who barely know how to drive--and sometimes are so bad they shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car. Driving instructors and state troopers alike take their lives into the hands of bad drivers every day. I would think it would take a toll. :(
But he had no right to treat you like that if you were civil and respectful to him. You should report him to his superior.

because they constantly have to arrest ,or worse,scrape bodies off the highways and byways of this great nation everyday,of drunks their victims or know it all punk kid's (or adults)who drive like idiots and place your (and all our lives in jeopardy) i know we all dislike chp etc but put yourself in their shoes.we dont have to see dead babies everyday.
