There are different organizations in boxing that give out world championships. They're commonly called the alphabet organizations because many people think they're just silly with no unified champ. Klitschko is currently the IBF (International Boxing Federation) champ. Here are the others:
Nikolai Valuev - Russia - WBA (World Boxing Association)
Hasim Rahman - USA - WBC (World Boxing Council)
Sergei Lyakhovich - Belarus - WBO (World Boxing Organization)

There are currently 4 separate heavyweight champions, based of the existance of 4 boxing federations.
WBC - Hasim Rahman (Baltimore, MD)
WBA - Nikolay Valuev (Russia)
WBO - Sergei Liakhovich (Belarus)
IBF - Wladimir Klitschko (Ukraine)
Wladimir's brother Vitali, is considered by most to be the last true heavyweight champion.
