As a pastor it means I am not under anyone's control, since I have been set free by God, but that I willingly serve others in the same was that Jesus, who was under no one's control, came to serve the people willingly.

These are Martin Luther's words to Pope Leo X in 1520 CE.
In his many papers, nailed to the church door, he questions the churchs position of ultimate authority on earth. In his third such letter, "The Freedom of a Christian", he wrote: "A Christian is a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none; A Christian is a perfectly dutiful servant of all, subject to all".
This seeming contradiction is meant to elucidate the idea that Jesus' original message was for men to rise up and be their own master, and in so doing, serve all (both self and others).

This is about George Bush. He is subject to none of the masses in this country but he is a servant of all his advisors.

I am servant to God and only to God. You on the other hand,did not get that from the bible.

uhh ya servant to all means u r serving all people and subject to none i dont know wat tat means but i dont go on my knees and bow to anyone if i did i would be some low life tat got captured and was selled for _ _ _ _ing money!

My God is the King of Kings; He is beneath no one. Angels bow before Him. At the sound of His name, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall profess that He is Lord. That being said, He choose to serve us and give His life so that we would have eternal life.

It reminds me of Jesus. He answered to no man, yet he served all man kind with his life and in giving up his life on the cross.

to me it means if it's about christ or God that he serves us willingly and we can't Make him do anything for us
