I think it was great.
We have a president run muck, who thinks he is above the law, and that the 3rd arm of our system doesn't count.
Well, they slammed him and they are going to continue to do it. They have sent him a message that they are not going to sit by the sidelines and watch him desecrate our Constitution, while many of you want an amendment to ban same burning the flag. I see more than a little irony in that!
Scalia, what a worthless piece of S__ he is!!
they have been holding Saddam's jeep driver on 1 count of "suspicion of terrorism"!
What the hell is that! How do you even defend it! Suspicion is a charge?
What a bogus bunch of crap!
And this is the second time the Supreme court has warned bush that he violates the Geneva conventions and the constitution.
And you wonder why military are committing war crimes in Iraq.
George Bush is committing them here, and an International court has enough proof on the basis of the Supreme Court findings.
Can't wait to see Georgy squirming before an international court tribunal charged with Crimes against Humanity!!

The court is amazingly a conservative court that, surprisingly, made the right decision. This country only works if everyone is allowed access to justice. (I'm not talking about the convoluted definition lately that equates justice with revenge). Justice must stand on it's own merit and I would want a court in this or any other country to understand that. Lately these yowlers that are crying for blood to be spilled by the United States out of vengeance are starting to sound like a group of yowlers from a certain European country about 60-70 years ago who used faux patriotism and a made up enemy to nearly conquer the world.
We've seen aggresion from the "Fatherland", and the "Motherland", and now the "Homeland".

Absurd. Supreme Court shouldn't have even ruled on this, but the liberal justices wanted to get back at Bush. This has never been done with any prior president & prior wars' inmates were treated much, much worse (esp. in WW2).
Just another step in the wussification of America by liberal politicians.

If this is viewed within a construct of constitutional law, law of war, presidential war powers, and international law, it should have never happened in the first place. It's dangerous to have an unchecked executive branch. Setting aside the constitution to help make us more free is an incredibly dangerous slippery slope to descend, even if that executive power abuse is applied to a bad actor from a foreign host.
The GB detainees and Abu Graib prisoners are perceived as martyrs and heroes to their people. The common opinion of many middle easterners is Americans are visogoths looking to spread American imperialism and steal Arab oil. The documented mistreatment and deaths of detainees only bolsters our enemy, helping to perpetuate this GWOT.
Look, we need to just kickass and leave the sandbox. Nation building is for the U.N. Our job as military men is to just blow up bad guys in defense of freedom (it is called the "Defense Department", not the "Offense Department").

Republicans now control the Supreme Courts so any rulings that goes to them will benefit conservatives.

I do not belive that it should have been in the courts, from a legal perspective. I thought it was out of their jurisdiction.
My personal opinion is that I wonder why some folks are getting so upset about people who wish to see the very Americans who are going to bat for them...............dead.
How do you get around that?

I think it was a poorley thought out decision by the Supremes. They should have waited until our troops were out of harms way before they made the decision. it seems that everyone is pushing for us to loose this war. Oh well, when we are all kneeling to the west and praying to allah, we can always ask for our country back...........
