PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE..before reading literature and propaganda about my faith....please go to the source....

I don't read 1000 ways to tear down the Catholic church before I go to Catholic Mass...it is very unfortunate when people learn about my faith using the wrong resources..

look up www.lds.org and look up anything and everything you'd like...if you really want to learn invite the missionaries over and talk with them for a half hour...it will change everything that you read and you will have a complete change of heart as far as our faith is concerned..

whatever Ellen Hopkins said...it is more than probably taken quite out of context and is her personal beliefs as to how she was offended by the Church in one way or another...please give us the chance we deserve to explain ourselves as it ought to be said...

just to dispell a few common MYTHS...I only have 1 wife and will never have more than 1 at a time. I only have 1 child and 1 more on the way..My wife and I have been married over 7 years and are in our 30s..Polygamy hasn't been part of the church for over 150 years...

Moroni was not a planet...He was a Prophet who lived in the Americas and was one of the ancestors of the Native Indians who lived in the Americas prior to the Explorers who found the Indians here on this continent..his father was Mormon who collaborated all of the writings of his people and that is we pay hmage to his work..but we DO NOT worship him...

As far as our clothing (garments) they are symbolic of the fig leaves that Adam and Eve used to cover their nakedness..and it is weird to ME personally that this is so interesting to people because most men wear an undershirt whether it is a "wife beater" or a tank top or whatever they wear under their dress shirt..but we get a weird rap for wearing garments..even the name garments is better than "wife beaters"..that is just degrading...

if you read my 2nd link..it will talk about the woman's role in the church and how IT DEFINITELY DOES NOT hold women back..

DON'T GO BY HEARSAY...NO JUDGE DOES...WHY PEOPLE INSIST ON IT..I WILL NEVER KNOW...

Mormonism is indeed a "unique" religion (to put it nicely).

Officially they go by the name of "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints".

To call Mormonism a Protestsant denomination would be incorrect because doing so would imply that they adhere to the basic principles of Christianity; which they do not. Mormonism however, is nothing more than paganism with a Christian mask.

One of their beliefs entails the idea of 3 Heavens:

The lower heaven being reserved for the evil-doers and major sinners. Their sins are forgiven and they enjoy perfect happiness.

The middle heaven is for non-mormons or non-Christians and is a tad bit more pleasurable than the previous heaven.

The final heaven is where Mormom doctrine takes an even greater wrong-turn at Albuquerque. The final upper heaven is reserved for devout Mormons and this is where men (and men only) have the opportuntiy to enter Godhood and become deities themselves to rule in the heavens with dominion over their personal universe.

A quote from Mormon "scripture" says: "God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens". Brigham Young (a past leader of the Mormom Church) actually taught that Adam was the God of this universe.

Many Mormons will attempt to convince you that those are merely the beliefs of "some" Mormons and not the whole "Church". This would be much more convincing if their Church hadn't already dubbed them as apostles of their faith.

... To be honest, what more do you wish to know after hearing that theological nonsense that Mormons hold as divine??

Mormons portray themselves as pious Christians, but unfortunately that couldn't be fatrther from the truth. The Mormon beliefs above are more of their obscure beliefs and are not readily visible unless you delve a bit further than what is presented to you. I'm not saying they are necessarily bad people, but their "theology" is very much off the map.

Hope this was of service to you.

God bless

that is type of complicated. they trust that the gospel or authority from God became removed from the earth sometime after Christ became crucified. they trust that a gentle guy in present day circumstances (Joseph Smith) became chosen by utilizing god to restoration the church. Mormonism has a pretty, and shady previous. there have been a great number of odd beliefs and practices contained in the early days, a number of that are nonetheless happening in distinct the spin-off agencies which have strayed from the mainstream church. a great number of that, the mainstream church has tried (unsuccessfully) to comb lower than the carpet. there are a great number of embarrassing issues that occurred contained in the early days of the church. i think in case you look complicated adequate, noticeably a lot each and every church has were given some skeletons of their closets besides the undeniable fact that; some possibly somewhat stranger than others. There are all varieties of news of hardships, persecution, and sacrifice by utilizing the early participants. they are those who initially settled the state of Utah. Salt Lake city is their headquarters. I stay merely outside of Salt Lake city, and that i grew up in a Mormon relations. i'm nonetheless on their club information, yet I no longer evaluate myself an lively, partaking member. It regarded like the extra I studied my faith, the extra i began to question it. Mormonism has worked o.k. for a great number of persons besides the undeniable fact that. regrettably It merely wasn't operating too nicely for me. I do merely not imagine God concerns himself over who's a member and who isn't. i do not problem about faith that a lot anymore, or the position i go when I die. i do not comprehend if there is an afterlife or a God. If there is, large. i'm no longer going to pretend that i comprehend.

I heard they believe they come from the planet Moroni, Women can only get to heaven if bound to a male member. If you are single it is your father. They wear protective underwear. I know my friend wore the underwear it was one piece and had little cap sleves. When we went golfing the sleeves would stick out and she would tuck them back into her shirt and say,"My wings are showing". You should check it out on the internet however some of their secrets won't be there. I think its a religion that really holds women back. True Mormans do not practice multiple marriage. I guess if you're raised in it it wouldn't seem strange.

The name of the church is THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. The main belief of our church is that Jesus Christ lived and died for us. We believe in his gospel as it exsisted in the ancient church with Prophets and Apostles. We believe and study The Bible, both Old and New Testament (we tend to use the King James Version) we also have other books of Scripture the foremost being THE BOOK OF MORMON: ANOTHER TESTAMENT OF JESUS CHRIST. The purpose of the Book of Mormon is just what the title says, it is another Testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is alot out there about our Church that is not true, if you really want to know what the religion is about I suggest a couple of places. One is to pick up The Book of Mormon and read it. It is in print by Doubleday for purchase or you can request a free copy of the book, which two missionaries would contact you with. Our missionaries can also tell you more about our church and can answer many of your questions. You can also go to www.lds.org which is the church's official website and there you can read more about this church. BTW: Obviously I am of the LDS faith, and am happy to answer your questions. However, I would thank those who would e-mail me to 'rip' or attack my faith to not e-mail me. I respect other religions and really must ask that you respect mine.

I can only explain how weird the lighting is inside their churches and homes. It's almost like a constipated spiritual ambience.

Really, I have nothing against them, until they show up at my door trying to sell their beliefs.

A guy back in the 1800s thinks he was visited by an angel. I think his name was Joseph Smith. They wrote their own version of a bible (book of mormon). They have beliefs such as baptizing yourself for a dead person and marrying lots of women, etc.

Here are the basic beliefs of our church:

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon this the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

In regard to this concept, the less you know the better. Kind of like knowing what a nuclear bomb explosion 30 feet away feels like. Just don't do it. Just say no.
